Denis Lapitski

I was born in St. Petersburg and lived in Moscow until the age of 15, when my family moved to South Africa. After three years in Johannesburg we moved to the United States where I finished school and entered college.

As an undergraduate I studied at the University of Denver from 2002 to 2006 and graduated with a BS in Mathematics and BS in Physics. In 2006 I began an Applied Mathematics course at University of Oxford, where I focused on Financial Mathematics and graduated with a MSc in Mathematical Modeling and Scientific Computing.

In 2008 I returned to the University of Oxford and started my research on simulation of Quantum systems using the Lattice Boltzmann method, under the supervision of Dr. Paul J. Dellar. My work is generously supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Reseach Council.
